Anudeep Durishetty, the newly appointed Collector for the district of Hyderabad, has carved out a small space for himself in Hyderabad’s history. The 34-year-old IAS officer has the distinction of being the youngest-ever Collector and district magistrate of Hyderabad to date.

  • Early Life: Mr. Anudeep Durishetty has roots in Metpally town in Jagityal in Telangana. He pursued a B.Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation from BITS Pilani after completing his schooling at Suryodaya High School and Sri Chaitanya Junior College.

  • Perseverance Pays Off: It was not easy for him to achieve his dream of being an IAS officer. It took Anudeep five tries to crack the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam. On his fifth attempt in 2017, he topped the UPSC exam and landed his dream job as an IAS officer!

Telangana's Common Mobility Card

Telangana Govt is all set to launch its Common Mobility Card for Hyderabad Metro and TSRTC riders, with plans to include MMTS, cabs, and autos in the future. Replicating the National Mobility Common Card, his arrangement will make travel payments a breeze!

  • Streamlining Transactions: The Common Mobility Card will be available by the 2nd week of August, letting you ride Metro Rail & RTC buses, expanding to MMTS, cabs & autos later. The goal is to enable citizens to use the card for traveling purposes and different transactions.

  • Proposing Creative Names: The State Government views the Common Mobility Card as a transformative step forward in the development of public transport. This card is for nationwide use and works in other metro cities with the National Common Mobility system. Citizens have been offered the liberty to suggest names for the card!

Virtual Reality is set to make anatomy more real for first-year students at Osmania Medical College (OMC). Osmania Medical College in collaboration with IIIT-Hyderabad is setting up a VR facility to teach anatomy using advanced technology.

  •  VR Technology for Students: VR technology is key behind the waited metaverse. This enormous potential in teaching anatomy with VR will illustrate 2D and 3D visualizations of the underlying process.

  • Joint Collaboration: The VR tool for teaching neuroanatomy was developed as part of a project by Prof. Jayanthi Sivaswamy and her team. This joint project with Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences, Thiruvananthapuram is funded by SERB of the Department of Science and Technology.

WFH Keeps IT Industry Afloat

As torrential rain descended from the skies, thousands of IT employees in Hyderabad sought refuge in the hybrid work mode. With the rains throwing life out of gear and making commute challenging, the hybrid work model made life easier for IT employees.

  • Hybrid Work Model: Post-COVID, many IT companies have adopted a hybrid work model. The companies have allowed employees to WFH for two days and WFO for three days. It saw the 9 lakh IT employees in the state stay safely at home and enjoy their working day.

  • Low On-Sight Attendance: With rains lashing down across the city, the employees empowered by the hybrid work model, elected to work from home. On expected lines, the IT companies saw low employee attendance. People working from the office were asked to leave early because of the rain alert.
