Get ready to rev up your engines because Hyderabad got an exciting connectivity proposal it cannot refuse! A unique, one-of-its-kind regional Outer Ring Rail network! This snazzy rail network will be peripheral and run parallel to the Regional Ring Road. The ORR (railway) construction will cover over 563 km across several districts of Telangana. The main purpose of this project is to improve the connectivity between Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
Decongesting Key Rail Terminals: The Outer Ring Rail network is expected to decongest the busy railway terminals of Secunderabad, Nampally, and Kacheguda. And improve connectivity to the socio-economically backward regions of the state. Junctions established in these areas will be connected to Guntur, Vijayawada, Mumbai, and Vikarabad lines.
Project Details: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy announcing this 563 km railway project informed that the details of the project have been shared with the Telangana government. 99% of the route map preparation for the project is complete. Crowded Cars, Discontent Passengers

Source: The Hindu
In the Hyderabad Metro rail car, people are packed like sardines in a can. Unlike the tinned, salted sardines, the people are alive to the unpleasant musk of sweat as they travel in the jam-packed metro trains. The Metro has changed the way people travel in the city. Despite ferrying over 5 lakh passengers per day, there has been no increase in the addition of coaches to the trains and commuters are discontent with the travel experience.
More Coaches Needed: Commuters traveling on the Hyderabad metro feel that just six coaches will not be able to meet the travel demand. They feel the need for at least two additional coaches on the Red Line (Miyapur- L B Nagar) and the Blue Line (Nagole – Raidurg). The packed coaches are making elderly passengers wary of traveling aboard the metro during peak hours.
Demanding Frequency and Density: The passengers are also asking for an increase in the frequency of trains as well as in bogies. They suggest HMRL increase the frequency of trains between 7:30 am – 11 am and 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Some of them also want the authorities to plan ahead and create a denser metro network across the city to meet the growing demand.
