Experience the life of a scientist at an Antarctica science station at the newly inaugurated Antarctica Experience Room at the Space Museum in BM Birla Science Centre. With this, the Birla Science Centre became the first private museum in India to collaborate with ISRO scientists.

• Experience Life In Antarctica: Students, science enthusiasts, and visitors can experience the challenges faced by scientists working in the harsh conditions of Antarctica. The Space Museum will facilitate immersive interactions with space scientists stationed at AGEOS in Antarctica and provide mesmerising views of the Antarctic landscape around the ground station.

• A Weekly Endeavour: The Space Museum will hold one interactive session per week with prior approval from ISRO. Each session will host 25 visitors. People interested in the sessions must register online and might be required to pay a nominal fee for it.

EVs Get A Boost

Expanding the green footprint of the city, Olectra Greentech Ltd. awarded Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) the contract to build a greenfield plant to manufacture electric vehicles in Hyderabad.

• Greenfield Facility: Olectra's new greenfield EV manufacturing unit is being constructed over an area of 150 acres at Seetharampur. An exchange filing by the company puts the construction cost of the EV plant at Rs 395.12 crores.

• Operations Commence Soon: As per the contract, the construction of the new electric vehicles manufacturing plant is to be completed within 12 months. Olectra has handed the contract to its parent company MEIL to execute the project.

Addressing the deluge of criticism and complaints on public infrastructure, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) plans to come up with an app, Central Advertising Monitoring Platform (CAMP) to manage and track the state of various civic amenities in the city.

• Real-Time Monitoring: The CAMP software will provide a comprehensive database to manage and track the condition, status, and associated assets of foot over bridges, bus shelters, and hoardings. It will enable real-time monitoring and the information provided will include geo-tagged locations, details, and conditions.

• Citizen Participation: The proposed software will have a reporting and tracking feature to report deficiencies and defects related to public amenities. It will enable both citizens and staff to report non-availability and non-functioning of these facilities.

Teach for Change has, over the years worked to give an uplift to the quality of education in government schools. Taking another step in the direction, this non-profit educational organisation has announced its decision to adopt several schools in Hyderabad.

• Promoting Quality Education: The initiative to adopt schools aims to provide quality education and support to underprivileged kids. Teach for Change has adopted a total of 167 schools, 15 of which are in Hyderabad. A total of 16,497 students stand to benefit from this school adoption drive.

• Smart Education: The smart classroom initiatives are expanding to more districts in Telangana. The NGO provides teacher training, interactive audio-video curricula, and progress reports, and assesses children's development.
