500MW of Wind Power Coming To Town

The breezy days are ahead for Telangana as it gears up to launch a 500 MW wind power project, promising a whirlwind of renewable energy generation. The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) will be setting up an Inter-State Transmission System Project (ISTS)-connected wind power projects in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Madhya Pradesh with a total capacity of 1,300 MW.

3 Substations To Get Power: The Telangana Energy Department is working in partnership with the National Institute of Wind Energy, ensuring that they aren't just blowing hot air when it comes to their green energy commitments. Of the combined capacity of 1300 MW, 500 MW will be distributed across Nizamabad, Rangareddy, and Medak substations.

Quadrupaling Current Capacity: Telangana appears to have its eyes set on the finish line, with 500 MW of wind power that is not to be sneezed at. Currently, Telangana’s total installed capacity from wind power is 128 megawatts (MW) including 100 MW from Pargi windmills and 28 MW from windmills on the Hyderabad-Mumbai highway near Zaheerabad.
